Xiaomi Becomes First Chinese Brand To Create Vision Gran Turismo

A few years ago, the idea of Xiaomi building a serious performance car would have sounded strange. Now it feels almost natural. At Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona, Xiaomi pulled the wraps off its Vision Gran Turismo concept, becoming the first Chinese brand to create its own Vision GT.
Underneath, it rides on the company’s 900-volt Silicon Carbide platform. Xiaomi has not shared full specs, but there is talk of more than 1,900 horsepower from the electric setup.

What we find more interesting, though, is how much attention they are giving to aerodynamics. The car has a claimed drag coefficient of 0.29, and the entire shape looks like it was carved by airflow. Huge Venturi tunnels run under the body and blast air out the back, giving it that dramatic rear end. It looks extreme but not random. There is a purpose behind it.

The details are cool in a slightly futuristic way. The slim headlights, the carbon splitter, and the full-width rear light bar. Even the turbine-style wheels look like they are not spinning when the car moves. Inside, it is tight and focused, with two seats inside a carbon monocoque and a wide head-up display. The steering wheel looks straight out of a race car, complete with multiple small screens and a drift mode switch. That part made us smile.

We think this is more than just a video game car. Xiaomi is clearly trying to show that it understands performance and design, not just software and screens. Whether or not it ever builds something this extreme in real life, the Vision GT proves the company is thinking big.
