The Special Vehicle Engineering (SVE) is now releasing a far more sophisticated version of the trail-capable Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 pickup. Chevrolet offers the Colorado ZR2 either a 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 308 hp (230 kW) or a 2.8-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel engine that generates 181 hp (135 kW).

In contrast, a supercharged 5.3-liter V8 with improved internals produces 750 hp (559 kW) and 600 lb-ft (814 Nm) of torque in the SVE's Xtreme Off-Road variant. SVE also installs a new, heavy-duty eight-speed automatic transmission in addition to the major engine improvement. Furthermore, the transfer case has been beefed up. The driveshafts have also been strengthened.

A bespoke stainless steel cat-back exhaust with dual tips in either a polished or satin black finish is also available from SVE. The enhanced front brakes include 13.6-inch slotted rotors with red six-piston calipers emblazoned with the Xtreme logo. Meanwhile, the rear brakes are unaltered.

The Xtreme Off-Road has a 4-inch suspension raise and heavy-duty traction bars for handling rough terrain. The altered Chevrolet Colorado is equipped with 18-inch wheels wrapped in Nitto Recon Grappler rubber. SVE also makes minor changes to the truck's appearance. It sports a body-colored composite hood insert with flat black inlays. Fender flares are also more pronounced. A full-size spare wheel carrier in the bed, a sports bar with spotlights over the cab, and retractable side stairs are available as extras.

The alterations on the inside are modest. The Xtreme logo may be found on the headrests as well as the floor mats. The Xtreme Off-Road will only be produced in 50 units, according to SVE. They start at $85,000, but the customer must also provide a Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Crew Cab Short Box truck to serve as a donor car.
