This Mercedes-AMG G63 Has Been Skilfully Crafted From Wood

We have a video today showing Mercedes' unique G63 AMG SUV being built from a few boards of Fujian cypress. But this isn't just any ordinary video of Mercedes' iconic G63 AMG SUV being created from a few plates of Fujian cypress. This unknown woodworker, whose talent appears to be matched only by his obsessive-compulsive characteristics, has created what could be the best toy car ever.

The video begins with all the masculine cutting, routing, chiseling, and banging of wood blocks on metalwork surfaces that you could wish for in a car-from-wood movie. After around three and a half minutes, you'll say to yourself, "I've seen how he does it, so that's cool. I understand he got all nerdy turning miniature brake disks, detailing the engine bay, and carving out interior door panels with power seat controls. What's coming up in the next six minutes?"

That's when the artist starts working on the G63's frame, which includes a fully functional and precisely built suspension. Remember, the new G dropped the live front axle in favor of a more modern, and unquestionably more difficult-to-recreate-from-wood independent arrangement.

The A-arms, springs, and shocks are all made out of wood, as is the turned driveline. There are some metal parts, mainly the springs because wooden springs aren't very elastic (as we learned from the YouTuber's last F-150 Raptor version).

This specific G63 AMG model has already sold for an undisclosed price-a-win scenario for both the worker and the client. Still, he has additional wooden car models available, with prices ranging from $1,000 to $1,500 and worth every penny if this video is any evidence.
