While we're waiting for BMW to unveil the next-generation M2, Dahler has shown off their own M240i xDrive performance upgrade kit. The DCL dAHLer Competition Line provides cosmetic, performance, and chassis enhancements for the present flagship model. When it comes to appearance, the tuner chose to go with a black treatment and a new front splitter.

The striking alloy wheels measure 20 inches and are accessible in a slimmer forged model that reduces unsprung mass. They are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires (235/35ZR20 front and 275/30ZR20 back). For enhanced steering, the redesigned wheels are coupled with adjustable dropped sports springs or extra coilovers.

The B58B30TU1 turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six motor generates 369 horsepower (275 kW / 374 hp) in the EU-spec BMW M240i and 382 hp (285 kW / 387 PS) in the US-spec M240i in stock condition, with 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque in both situations. An eight-speed automatic gearbox and the rear-biased xDrive technology provide power to all four wheels.

Thanks to a Performance Tuning Module that can be managed by your smartphone, Dahler's Stage 1 update provides 421 horsepower (314 kW / 427 PS) or 424 hp (316 kW / 430 PS) for the EU and US standard models, correspondingly, and 610 Nm (450 lb-ft) of torque. Also, there is a Stage 2 upgrade for individuals who want their M240i to have more performance, with up to 448 horsepower (334 kW / 455 PS) and 640 Nm (472 lb-ft). Additionally, a 10% faster Power Pedal Box and a revised stainless steel exhaust system with ceramic-coated twin tailpipes are available, which is Euro6d-compatible.

The Performance Tuning Module costs €1,790 ($1,967) for the US-spec BMW M240i and €1,980 ($2,175) for the EU-spec model, the cat-back exhaust is €3,250 ($3,570), the exhaust flap module adds an extra €495-530 ($544-582), and the dropping kit ends up costing €360 ($395).
