Remember the AC-Shelby Cobra from the swinging '60s? Well, brace yourselves - AC Cars is turning that nostalgic dial up to eleven with their latest creation, the AC Cobra GT Roadster. It's a nod to the past with a firm foot in the future, and it's sure to leave Carroll Shelby speechless!

What's cooking at AC Cars? They're taking a leaf out of Morgan's playbook, mixing old-school cool with modern wizardry. The new AC Cobra GT Roadster might look like the heart-thumping 427 Cobras of yesteryear, but under its classic exterior lies something much more advanced.

Gone is the steel ladder chassis of the original. In its place? A spanking new aluminum platform, future-proof and brimming with potential. It's a move initiated by David Conza, AC’s CEO and major investor, who saw the need for a safer, more performance-oriented upgrade.

And let's talk dimensions. The carbon-skinned GT stretches an extra 110mm (4.3 inches) compared to the Cobra MK VI, boasting a longer wheelbase and wider track. This not only gives taller drivers a comfy ride but also amps up the car's stability. And for those who love tech, there's an optional 10-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters, alongside the classic six-speed manual.

Under the hood? A roaring Ford 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine, available in two flavors: a standard 454bhp beast or a supercharged variant with a jaw-dropping 654bhp. We’re talking serious power here.

David Conza of AC Cars puts it best: "We're aiming to provide an experience akin to driving the original AC Cobra, but with unmatched sophistication." This isn't just about recreating the past; it's about redefining what a high-performance, exclusive sports car can be in the modern era.

With a production plan of 250 GTs annually, AC Cars is targeting car enthusiasts globally. And guess what? The first year's production is already spoken for, with each buyer happily shelling out a cool £285,000 ($359,000). It's clear - the AC Cobra GT Roadster isn't just a car; it's a statement, a fusion of history and future, waiting to hit the roads. Buckle up, folks; it's going to be an exhilarating ride!
