This Tacoma Thinks It’s a Classic Land Cruiser

For some Toyota fans, modern pickups do everything right except the styling. The Renoca Windansea fixes that by wrapping a Tacoma in the unmistakable design cues of a classic 60-series Land Cruiser. If that sounds like your kind of truck, three examples are currently looking for new owners in San Diego.
Created by Flex for the U.S. market, the package gives the Tacoma a whole new identity.

The modern front end disappears in favor of round headlights, a simple grille, and the kind of boxy styling Toyota off-roaders were once known for. It's the sort of truck that makes people do a double-take because it looks familiar, yet slightly confusing at the same time.

All three builds start with a 2017 Tacoma Double Cab and retain the stock 3.5-liter V6 producing 278 hp and 265 lb-ft of torque. The entry-level truck is a red SR5 2WD with 87,094 miles, priced at $42,495. A second silver SR5 with just 40,399 miles asks $44,495 and gets its own wheel and tire package.

The range-topper is the tan TRD Sport 4WD, listed at $61,995. Alongside the retro styling, it comes loaded with off-road hardware, including King suspension, a winch, skid plates, rock sliders, a roof rack, a rooftop tent, and beadlock wheels. One glance is enough to tell this Tacoma was built with long weekends and dirt roads in mind.

The asking prices may raise a few eyebrows, especially when a brand-new Tacoma starts at $32,445. But what you're really paying for is individuality. Toyota may still build great trucks, but it doesn't build anything quite like this anymore.
