Porsche 911 GT3 Receives Track-Focused Improvements From Manthey

Manthey Racing, a Porsche motorsport partner, has unveiled a comprehensive upgrade kit for the new 911 GT3 that claims to considerably improve the car's track performance characteristics. This new package will go on sale in spring next year, following the example of similarly modified Manthey variants of the 991-generation GT2 RS and GT3 RS.

It is likely to cost roughly £70,000 more than a basic Porsche 911 GT3. Manthey's latest innovation was developed extensively at its native circuit, the Nürburgring, but the vehicles remain appropriate for everyday usage.

The package focuses on improving Porsche 911 GT3's chassis and aerodynamic features to improve handling while keeping the 503 hp flat-six engine alone. A four-way adjustable suspension package, unique Manthey lightweight wheels, and an enhanced braking system with braided lines and pads are all included.

A unique front splitter and air-channeling winglets, a huge back diffuser, a new carbon fiber rear spoiler, and distinctive 'aero discs' for the rear wheels are all part of Manthey's aero package. The regular Porsche 911 GT3 has been significantly improved over its predecessor, and it is now 17 seconds faster around the Nürburgring Nordschleife, which Manthey development chief Stefan Mages described as a major task.

Manthey hasn't officially established a benchmark lap time at the Nordschleife, but managing director Nicolas Raeder stated he can't wait to see how quick the vehicle will be after the kit is installed, implying a record-breaking run is in the cards.

Manthey currently owns the road-legal vehicle lap record at the Nürburgring, with a time of 6 min and 43.3 secs with Porsche works driver Lars Kern at the wheel earlier this year.
