Polaris Builds A 400-HP RZR Pro R Factory Boost That Costs $200k

Polaris has taken the RZR into territory usually reserved for serious racing machines. Its latest creation, the RZR Pro R Factory Boost, packs 400 horsepower, wears carbon-fiber bodywork and comes with a price tag that could buy you a very capable sports car. This side-by-side is built for one thing: going extremely fast off-road.
Power comes from a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder called the ProStar Fury. Its 400 hp output puts it ahead of a U.S.-spec Audi RS3, which produces 394 hp. Polaris hasn't shared torque figures yet, but the numbers alone suggest there's plenty of muscle available for desert runs and sand racing.

The Polaris RZR Pro R Factory Boost also looks considerably different from the regular RZR. Lightweight carbon-fiber panels help reduce weight, while the sleeker bodywork is designed to handle speeds above 100 mph. Engineers have stretched the wheelbase by 6.5 inches to improve stability when the terrain gets rough and the speed climbs.
Underneath, BFGoodrich tires handle the ground contact, while custom three-inch Dynamix DV Live Valve internal bypass shocks manage suspension movement. A Fox steering damper helps control the bigger hits.

Polaris has also fitted a competition-specification roll cage, a cabin that's two inches wider, and a massive 34-gallon fuel tank. The latter provides more than 200 miles of driving range. Engine management comes from a MoTeC package and ECU, allowing different power delivery settings depending on conditions.
Every RZR Pro R Factory Boost will be assembled by the Polaris RZR Factory Racing team. Its first competitive outing is scheduled for the 2027 King of the Hammers, which runs from January 21 through February 6.

You can actually buy one without entering a race. The catch? Prices start at $200,000, and this Polaris can't even be driven on public roads.
