If you’re a fan of the Mazda MX-5, you’ll love this jaw-dropping, glow-in-the-dark art car. Meet the Mazda MX-5 “Kabuki Town,” a graffiti-inspired masterpiece bursting with fluorescent dragons, derailed subway trains, kabuki masks, and nods to Japanese culture.

This one-off roadster, created by Belgian dealer Mazda St-Michel in collaboration with Gisele Racing, transforms the MX-5 RF into a rolling canvas. The project called on two contemporary artists: Mexican artist Eric Lopez, who spent 300 hours crafting the original design, and Belgian artist Boris Sandron, who spent another 200 hours adapting and painting it onto the car’s body. In total, this work of art took 510 hours to complete.

The livery is a vibrant explosion of Japanese pop culture and ancient traditions. Godzilla roars from the hood, while a derailed subway train and a sinuous dragon stretch across the profile. Kabuki masks and colorful bursts of stars and explosions fill every inch, paying tribute to Mazda’s Japanese roots.

Underneath the eye-catching exterior, the Kabuki Town retains the heart of the MX-5 RF. The 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G engine powers it, producing 181 hp and 151 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a six-speed manual and a limited-slip differential, it delivers the signature rear-wheel-drive fun that makes the MX-5 a legend.

This unique creation isn’t just for show—it’s heading on a six-month tour across Europe before finding its forever home. Interested buyers can submit offers starting at $75,000. Both enthusiasts and art collectors will have the opportunity to own this rolling piece of culture, as the final decision will consider both the offer amount and the car's display.
