Next Chevrolet Silverado And GMC Sierra Bring Sharper Lines, New Tech, And Hybrid Options

GM’s next full-size pickups are almost here. The Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra are both set to hit showrooms this year, and while we haven’t seen official photos yet, last year’s patent sketches give us a pretty solid sneak peek.
The new Silverado sticks with its classic, squared-off stance - all tough-truck vibes, no messing around. Up front, a slim light bar stretches across the hood, and the main headlights sit lower in a bold C-shape.

Around back, the taillights mirror the front, with a trim piece running across the tailgate. The hood now sports twin bulges, and the rear bumper has cutouts for four exhaust tips. Yep, the V8 is still very much part of the plan.

It’s not a radical redesign, but the updates clean up the look. Lines are sharper, and the truck just feels fresher. Engine details are still under wraps, but expect the V8 to return, along with a hybrid option. The turbodiesels may or may not come back. There’s also chatter about a plug-in hybrid for the Sierra, but that might come later. Chassis updates are likely as well.

Inside, we can expect a more tech-focused cabin, probably featuring a large widescreen display like the ones in new Cadillacs. Super Cruise hands-free driving will likely be an option, and towing and payload numbers should stay competitive. Pricing will probably start just above $40,000, a touch higher than today’s models.

Overall, these updates seem aimed at refining what already works - keeping the Silverado and Sierra familiar but sharper, smarter, and ready to take on the latest full-size truck rivals.
