Nissan Gave the Note Aura Nismo a Meaner Look, but We’re Still Waiting for the 211-HP RS

Nissan has given its little Japanese hatchbacks a darker attitude for 2027. The Note, Note Aura and Note Aura Nismo all get updates, but the real tease sits in the background. Nismo still hasn’t turned the wild RS concept into a production car.

The new Note Aura Nismo Black Limited takes the top spot in the lineup.

It keeps the familiar Nismo body kit but trades the usual red accents for glossy black trim. Hood decals and special badges add to the look, while Bose Personal Plus audio, NissanConnect navigation, and ProPilot bring plenty of tech. Underneath, though, the car keeps the same hybrid powertrain and Nismo-tuned chassis.

The regular Note and Note Aura also join the blackout trend. Their Black Edition versions get dark grille details, badges, mirror caps, and matching wheels. The Note adds a Pure White Pearl and Midnight Black two-tone finish, while the Aura gets Bose Plus audio, connected navigation, and ProPilot. Many 2027 trims also gain TailorFit synthetic leather, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel.

The familiar e-Power setup remains in charge. The 1.2-liter three-cylinder works as a generator, while the electric motors handle propulsion. The Note makes 114 hp, the Aura makes 134 hp, and the optional rear motor adds 67 hp.

The Nismo gets a sharper throttle response, stronger regeneration, sportier suspension, Recaro seats, and Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tires. Meanwhile, the 211-hp Nismo RS concept keeps hanging over the lineup like unfinished business. Will Nissan finally build it?
