New Clive Sutton CS800DH Is A 788-HP UK-Tuned Mustang Dark Horse

Clive Sutton, one of the UK’s go-to names for high-end performance cars and wild muscle builds, is back at it, and this time, it’s with a monster Mustang. The new Clive Sutton CS800DH is based on Ford’s latest seventh-gen Mustang Dark Horse, but it’s been seriously reworked to take things to a whole new level.

Under the hood, Sutton has cranked things up in a big way. The standard 5.0-liter V8 now breathes through a 3.0-liter Whipple supercharger, boosting output from the UK-spec 447 hp to a jaw-dropping 788 hp at 6,700 rpm and 642 lb-ft of torque at 4,750 rpm. It sounds as aggressive as it goes, thanks to a custom Borla exhaust with a bespoke H-pipe setup.

However, Sutton didn’t stop at just throwing more power at the thing. The CS800DH also gets a lowered suspension and sits on a set of custom Vossen wheels. The whole package is tuned for performance, but with a visual punch to match.

Speaking of visuals, this Mustang doesn’t try to blend in. The first thing you’ll notice is the exposed carbon fiber hood with two oversized vents, designed to pull heat from that roaring V8. Then there are carbon fiber front fender vents, plus a custom rear diffuser and a big fixed carbon wing out back. It’s bold. It’s in-your-face and it’s very Clive Sutton.

Inside, the standard Mustang cabin has been totally transformed. The Clive Sutton CS800DH trades plastic for plush, wrapping the seats, headliner, dash, and door panels in bright blue Alcantara. It’s definitely a statement, and maybe not for everyone, but it adds a splash of luxury that you won’t get in a stock Ford.

The car’s public debut is set for Salon Privé later this August, and while it’s bound to draw a crowd, the price tag might raise a few eyebrows. It starts at £135,000 (roughly $178,000) and can climb to £165,000 ($216,000) depending on options. That puts it in the same price range as some serious sports car royalty.

So is it worth it? That depends on what you’re after.
