Monterey Car Week Spotlight: Gunther Werks Reveals Limited-Edition 911 With 500 HP

Introducing the GWR, Gunther Werks' newest restoration project for the Porsche 911. The lightweight marvel made its debut at the recent Monterey Car Week in California, sporting a sleek carbon fiber body that weighs just 2,400 pounds.
The experts applied cosmetic upgrades to the new front fascia, which included a black splitter and larger air intakes, tinted LED DRLs and headlights, and a custom hood with air extractors.
In addition to a 3D-printed exhaust, a diffuser, turbofan covers, a striking ducktail spoiler, and one-piece forged magnesium wheels, Gunther Werks has installed an LED light bar in the trunk. The GWR's engine is a 4.0-liter overhead-valve six-cylinder that produces 500 horsepower and 340 lb-ft of torque at 9,000 rpm. A manual gearbox pairs best with this engine.
In order to maximize responsiveness, the engine features a unique throttle body, a redesigned intake manifold, and a number of lightweight titanium components. Power is delivered through a manual gearbox.
An Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel, two gold gauges, and a 12 o'clock marker adorn the interior, which also has two carbon fiber bucket seats and a carbon dashboard. Gunther Werks hasn’t revealed the price yet, but they plan to produce only 40 units.
