Modified Tesla Model 3 With Huge Aerodynamics

Unplugged Performance, a California-based tuning company, has debuted the "Bioniq Phoenix," a modified Tesla Model 3. This model was built on the electric car that met with an accident during 2020 Pikes Peak training.

After suffering severe damage in an accident, this model was rebuilt from the ground up with more dramatic aerodynamics, a centralized sitting position, and a more powerful electric motor.

Custom aero parts on the Bioniq Phoenix provide downforce of almost 4,000 pounds, anchoring the Model 3 to the road. A new, enclosed fascia can be seen replacing the original front end. The model's exterior is distinguished by its enormous back wing, vented hood, and concealed headlamps.

Lightweight construction was prioritized while designing the aero, hence it is built of dry carbon. Overall, the Bioniq Phoenix is around 200 lb lighter than a standard Tesla Model 3. Although 550 lb of excess weight was eliminated by the tuner, the vehicle gained some of that weight back due to the addition of a steel cage, a modified chassis, and a radical bodykit.

The Bioniq Phoenix will take part in races at several circuits, the first of which will be Buttonwillow Raceway. The track-ready Tesla's power output and performance data were not disclosed by the manufacturer, although the vehicle is expected to be very quick.
