What If Dodge Built A Two-Door Charger? This Custom Car Has The Answer
by AutoExpert | 16 June, 2026
Ever since the LX Charger debuted, enthusiasts have imagined what a two-door version might have looked like. One California company decided imagination wasn't enough and built its own answer.
Metalcrafters, known for producing concept cars and prototypes for major automakers, started with a 2008 Charger SRT8 and completely changed its character.

The four-door body was replaced with custom carbon-fiber panels inspired by the 1968 Charger, creating the kind of coupe many fans wished Dodge had built from the start. There's plenty of classic Charger DNA in the design, from the wide grille and hidden-style headlights to the flying-buttress roof and four round taillights. At the same time, it still looks every bit like a car built in the 21st century.

Underneath, things are much more familiar. Power comes from the original 6.1-liter Hemi V8 producing 425 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque, helped along by a cold-air intake and custom exhaust. The mechanical package remains largely unchanged, including the Brembo brakes and five-speed automatic transmission.

The cabin remains largely stock, complete with heated leather seats, dual-zone climate control, and a touchscreen infotainment system. The real surprise is the mileage: fewer than 3,400 miles, suggesting this one-off has been treated more like a collectible. Did Dodge miss a trick by never building one?
