Meet The Ryugi: A Mitsuoka-Designed Toyota Corolla Axio

You may be wondering what this automobile is. This is Ryugi, a Mitsuoka-designed Toyota Corolla Axio with an unusual nose. With the exception of the standard model, Mitsuoka has upgraded the car with a number of features, including a rearview mirror that automatically dims and front and rear parking sensors.

That being said, the most intriguing aspect is the external style. For instance, the front fascia is based on many models. There are hints of the late 1950s Mk2 Jaguar and Bentley S1.

A nod to the luxury Bentley is evident in every detail, from the intimidating grille to the arrangement of the fog lamps and headlights. As one moves along the vehicle's sides, one notices that the design is in contrast with the front and back.

Meanwhile, the wheel designs are basic. A chrome trunk strip, narrow horizontal light clusters, and fake chrome wraparound bumpers square off the once-rounded back end. All four of the available Mitsuoka Ryugi variants share a 1.5-liter inline-four engine.

An all-wheel-drive model with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), a hybrid variant with an electronically controlled variable transmission (e-CVT), and a five-speed manual transmission are all available to customers.
