Mattel’s Brick Shop Is Starting To Worry Lego
by AutoExpert | 31 May, 2026
Mattel only launched Brick Shop in 2025, but the sets are already winning over people who’d normally just buy Lego and move on. Once you see one in person, it makes sense. The cars look properly shaped, the details are nicer than expected, and some honestly feel more like little display models than toys.
The big new release is the Lamborghini Miura P400 SV. It’s a 1:12-scale set made from 1,524 pieces and comes with opening doors, a removable roof, detailed interior parts, and even metal components for things like the wheels and exhaust tips. There’s also a matching Hot Wheels Miura included in the box, which feels like a nice touch.

The mid-range Elite Series adds an Audi Sport quattro, an Aston Martin Vantage GT3, and a Toyota Supra MkIV.

The Audi is probably the coolest of the three, thanks to its rally styling and working steering setup, though the Supra does come with a nitrous bottle in the trunk because, apparently, some stereotypes still make people smile.

Then there’s the cheaper Speed Series. Even at around $21, the sets still get opening doors, removable roof panels, and matching die-cast cars. The Huracán Sterrato and Corvette C8.R look especially good for the money.

The funny part is how fast Brick Shop went from "Oh, Mattel makes building sets now?” to something people are genuinely excited to collect.
