Manhart's MHXM 900: Taking BMW’s XM Label Red To The Next Level

The BMW XM has been one of the most talked-about releases from the German automaker in recent years, drawing attention for both its immense power and its bold, divisive design. Known for being fast and powerful, it’s also notably heavy, and its exterior styling has sparked plenty of debate.

Perhaps recognizing how polarizing the stock XM already is, Manhart’s newly released upgrade package aims to refine and add some cohesiveness to the SUV's striking appearance. Dubbed the MHXM 900, this upgrade is based on the top-tier XM Label Red.

Straight from the factory, the Label Red version already packs a serious punch, with 738 hp and 738 lb-ft (1,000 Nm) of torque, courtesy of a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 paired with a 197 hp electric motor. However, Manhart has managed to extract even more performance from this already powerful setup. The MHXM 900 package includes the company’s MHtronik ‘powerbox’ and various new exhaust options.

These upgrades bump the power output to an impressive 888 hp and 885 lb-ft (1,200 Nm) of torque. For those looking to further enhance performance, Manhart offers race downpipes without catalytic converters and 300-cell cats. Customers can also opt for an Akrapovic slip-on exhaust or a custom-built stainless steel exhaust from Manhart, complete with adjustable valves to fine-tune the sound.

To improve handling, Manhart added a set of H&R lowering springs that bring the XM closer to the ground. The SUV also rides on massive Manhart Concave One wheels, with the front set measuring 24x10 inches and the rear 24x12 inches, wrapped in 295/30 and 355/25 tires, respectively. Visually, the MHXM 900’s carbon fiber bodykit brings a more cohesive and aggressive look to the XM. The kit includes a new front splitter, custom hood, extended side sills, a large roof spoiler, a small rear window lip, and a bold rear diffuser, all made from carbon fiber.

The specific model featured also has a matte gray wrap, adding to its striking presence. Inside, the MHXM 900 doesn’t skimp on luxury either. The cabin gets additional carbon fiber trimmings on the dashboard and center console, giving the already luxurious interior a sportier edge.
