Lanzante's Road-Approved Porsche 935s Make A Spectacular Debut

Two Porsche 935 owners came to the Lanzante aftermarket expert with an unusual request. They wanted their track-only 911s modified so they could legally drive on the road. Thankfully, the two made their premiere at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year, after a development period of eighteen months.

At the 2018 Rennsport Reunion, Porsche revealed the new 935. The track-only 935 used a 3.8-liter flat-fix engine that produced 700 horsepower and was based on the 911 GT2 RS. Porsche only manufactured seventy-seven, with the intended use limited to the racetrack.

While Porsche debuted the 935 with a broader stance and a more streamlined and expanded back end, Lanzante spent 18 months improving upon it. A specialist in aftermarket parts modified the Porsche with a new suspension arrangement, better brakes, wheels, and custom headlights, integrated into the aerodynamic body.

They also modified the electronics to fit the Porsche 935. Lanzante meticulously crafted the upgrades to mimic the car's factory settings, with one featuring a contemporary take on the Martini livery and the other a red-and-white Marlboro chevron pattern.

The 935s were among the several vehicles that Lanzante brought to the event. A new TAG Championship 911 with a genuine Formula 1 engine and a McLaren P1 GTR drift vehicle with a rotary engine swap were also on display.
