JMS Fahrzeugteile Revives Volkswagen Golf Mk4 With R32 Inspiration

Just as the Volkswagen Golf Mk8 got a mid-life upgrade, the German tuner JMS Fahrzeugteile brought the good ol' Mk4 back for another shot. Besides the addition of new wheels and a more aggressive exhaust system, the tuner took design cues from the flagship VW Golf R32.

A new grille and massive intakes adorn the front bumper of the Golf Mk4, while the vented bonnet stretches over the factory headlights. A fresh set of Barracuda Karizzma 19-inch wheels, contoured side skirts, and aerodynamic mirrors take up much of the profile. The much deeper rear bumper on the rear end draws inspiration from the legendary R32.

The Volkswagen Golf Mk4 should sound more aggressive thanks to Friedrich Motorsport's modified exhaust system, which features stainless steel dual 90-mm (3.5-in) tailpipes. Another notable change is the installation of a KW Variant 1 coilover suspension; this lowers the vehicle's ride height by 45 mm (1.8-in) up front and 40 mm (1.6-in) at the back.

Volkswagen Golf Mk4JMS Fahrzeugteile can also add strut bars, a roll cage, and performance modifications to the Volkswagen Golf Mk4 if the client wants so. The tuner was tight-lipped about how much the body package cost. What we do know is that these alloy wheels cost about €1,400 ($1,500).

As a reminder, the Volkswagen Golf Mk4 made its debut in 1997, and the R32, the flagship model, carried on the legacy of the R-branded sporty hatchbacks in 2003. The first-generation R32 Golf was the most potent vehicle of its time, producing 238 horsepower from its 3.2-liter VR6 engine.
