Japanese Kei Car Puts On The Market A Cute Land Rover Defender

Despite the trending demands for the crazy engine swaps and SEMA performances, the Japanese customers have a total opposite demand for their vehicles. Just take a look at the JDM tuning projects which feature the lighter side of creating oddball machines that pay homage to classic machines. The DAMD tuner specializes more in turning small Japanese econoboxes into cool-looking rides.

DAMD managed to change the body kit for the Toyota 86 evolving into a Lexus LFA, another project was an adored the Suzuki Jimny Into a Mercedes G-Class. The company's last project was the fabulous transformation of the Daihatsu Taft into a mini version of an off-road-ready Land Rover Defender, naming it cutely as a "Little D".

Little D is in its final version a great selection of custom body parts. The front-end now houses a new Defender grille and front bumper. Still, we get the hood cover to resemble a classic Defenders,' while the "Little D" branding resembles a true Land Rover Defender. As a bonus, DAMD also offers a large range of decals - mottos such as "Adventure of a Lifetime" or the British Union Jack, and a wood-grained roof rack.

This little cutie has interior features green plaid fabric seats with black vinyl contrasts, and Gray and Royal Red. This is now a five-door hatchback officially classified as a Kei car in Japan only. Surprisingly, the Little D is powered by a range of 658 cc three-cylinder engine, sporting a turbocharger and a plus of 63 horsepower. Both the Daihatsu Taft and DAMD body kits are available only in Japan, so the rest of us can buy a Land Rover Defender instead.
