Irmscher Revamps Opel Corsa: A Nod to the Hot Hatch Era

Hot hatches are practically extinct from the supermini rage, and things won’t get better until the new EV generations take over. Luckily, the tuners are here to fill the void by spicing up the infamous models that don’t include a sporty version in their original range.

A suitable example is the Irmscher trim for the Opel Corsa, which comes with performance upgrades, visual improvements, and chassis updates.

Opel Corsa

Irmscher has already offered a tuning trim for the Opel Corsa F, but it was recently renewed to fit the new facelifted version.

Starting with the exterior, the deeper side skirts and the bumper extensions resemble something that Opel could offer as part of an OPC, GSe, and GSi trim.

The same is available for the optional roof combined with red accents and a black-finished hood. There is also an extra wing attached to the rear spoiler.

Opel Corsa

The Opel Corsa sports a new set of multi-spoke 18-inch “Turbo Star” alloy wheels, at hand in a bi-color or black finish. Moreover, the lowered suspension brings the supermini closer to the ground by 1.2 inches, improving the stance and handling.

The body kit, wheels, and chassis modifications are compatible with all Corsa types of powertrains, including the EV. On the contrary, the performance upgrades are only for the limited ICE Corsa versions, adding up to 20 hp of power, depending on the engine.

Opel Corsa

The most powerful Opel Corsa version from the factory, except for the EV, comes equipped with a mild-hybrid turbocharged 1.2-liter engine that produces 134 hp. However, Irmscher’s power increase will probably be compatible with other Stellantis models that use the same powertrains, including the Peugeot 208.

The Remshalden-based turner hasn’t yet announced the price for the Opel Corsa upgrades that will be shortly available online.
