Hennessey Unveils The VelociRaptoR 6×6: A Beastly Transformation Of The Ford F-150 Raptor R

Great news coming from Hennessey. The tuner has announced they started the production of the striking VelociRaptoR 6×6, derived from the Ford F-150 Raptor R, at its Sealy, Texas, facility. While the Ford F-150 Raptor R is already a pricy pickup, starting at a whopping $109,000, Hennessey's VelociRaptoR 6×6 raises the cost to $499,999, including the donor vehicle's price.

First of all, Hennessey has elongated the frame and introduced a second locking rear axle, claiming it enhances traction by over 50% compared to a standard F-150 Raptor R. The tuner has also outfitted the 6×6 with Fox Live Valve shock absorbers and elevated the ride height by three inches. Custom 20-inch alloy wheels shod with 37-inch off-road tires.

Moreover, the increased length of the Ford has expanded the bed from 5.5 feet to 8 feet, amplifying cargo capacity by more than 45%. Several other aftermarket components have been incorporated, including distinctive front and rear bumpers, LED off-road lighting, fresh badges, and an abundance of Hennessey branding to emphasize that this is anything but a typical F-150.

Surprisingly, the tuner didn’t tinker with the F-150 Raptor R's powertrain. Consequently, this six-wheeled marvel retains the standard 5.2-liter supercharged V8 sourced from the Mustang Shelby GT500, churning out a formidable 700 horsepower and 640 lb-ft of torque. That's not bad at all.

Although precise performance figures remain undisclosed, Hennessey points out that the VelociRaptoR 6×6 tips the scales at around 6,500 pounds, meaning it won't match the agility of a conventional four-wheeled F-150 Raptor R.

John Hennessey, the founder of Hennessey Performance, remarked, “The F-150 Raptor R is competent right from the factory, but our 6X6 upgrade improves it dramatically. It gains significantly more traction thanks to 50 percent more driven wheels. The 8-foot bed adds gobs of increased utility, and the combination of three axles, a body lift, and a roaring V8 delivers unmatched stage presence!”
