Hefty 7.6-liter V12 Powers The RENNTech S76R

To demonstrate its skills, RENNTech has constructed a unique Mercedes-Benz S-Class based on the W140 chassis. This Mercedes 600 SEL from 1992 is powered by the M120 V12 with the greatest displacement to date, at 7.6 liters, sending 615 horsepower to the rear wheels.

Okay, now let's get down to brass tacks. To power the RENNTech S76R, engineers expanded the V12 found in the 600 SEL to a whopping 7.6 liters and gave it a heavy dose of natural aspiration. A ME-1 engine management upgrade, hand-built wiring harness, and RENNtech ECU tune all contribute to its improved performance.

The result is a substantial increase in power from the standard V12's 402 horsepower and 428 pound-feet to 615 horsepower and 703 pound-feet. The 4-speed automatic in the base model was upgraded to a 5-speed automatic, and an OS Giken limited-slip differential was installed. With these upgrades, the 4,800-pound RENNTech S76R can reach 60 mph in under 5 seconds and a peak speed of roughly 155 mph.

Also included in this package is a hand-built stainless steel exhaust system with quad mufflers and sport catalytic converters, which not only improves the V12's performance but also makes it sound more aggressive. Front and rear AMG Carbon Ceramic calipers with six and four pistons respectively were installed.

A one-of-a-kind combination of upholstery adorns the RENNTech S76R's cabin. The Alcantara headliner up top is accented with carbon fiber for a luxurious feel. There is a leather dashboard, and the seats have been upholstered in leather with diamond stitching. A pair of unique, fully-adjustable seats have indeed taken the place of the old bench in the back.

RENNTech claims it would gladly construct a one-of-a-kind W140 Mercedes S-Class for you, modified in the aforementioned ways and more, but it does not specify a price.
