ESB Style’s Land Cruiser-Inspired Toyota Roomy Debuts At 2025 Tokyo Auto Salon

Japanese tuner ESB Style has created something truly unexpected—a Toyota Roomy transformed into a mini off-roader with a Land Cruiser-inspired face. They call it the “Landc Roomy,” a funny mix of rugged SUV style and compact minivan practicality.

The Toyota Roomy—essentially a rebadged Daihatsu Thor that also moonlights as the Subaru Justy—gets a bold makeover. To start with, ESB Style swaps the front end for a Land Cruiser 300 Series-inspired grille and bumper, complete with oversized intakes for added attitude.

Out back, a sporty rear bumper with a body-colored diffuser adds style, while a 30 mm (1.2-inch) suspension lift and white steelies wrapped in Toyo Open Country R/T tires hint at light off-road capability. Power comes from a 1.0-liter, three-cylinder gasoline engine, available in naturally aspirated or 97-hp turbocharged form. Inside, ESB Style adds a clever touch—a foldable “Fox Mat” that turns the minivan into a mini camper, complete with a bed setup for weekend adventures.

For those itching to replicate this look, ESB Style’s parts are already available in Japan. The front bumper costs ¥100,000 ($635), while the rear bumper is priced at ¥60,000 ($381). The lift kit comes in at ¥50,000 ($317), the steelies and tires will set you back ¥60,000 ($381), and the foldable mattress is another ¥25,000 ($159). Altogether, the transformation totals ¥295,000 ($1,873) before taxes.

The Landc Roomy will make its first public appearance at the 2025 Tokyo Auto Salon from January 10–12. Whether you see it as a bold statement or a quirky experiment, it’s proof that even the most practical vehicles can embrace their wild side.
