Daewoo Matiz With A 3.2L V6 Engine Swap Shocks The Streets

In the world of wild engine swaps, this Daewoo Matiz from the UK stands out as a true beast in sheep’s clothing. What looks like a quirky, unassuming city car is actually packing a 3.2-liter GM V6 under the hood, transforming it into an absolute pocket rocket.

This bold build comes courtesy of PowerCrazy Automotive, a tuning shop based in Lincoln, whose mission was simple but ambitious: to squeeze a massive engine into one of the smallest cars around.

They managed to fit the V6 from a Vauxhall/Opel sedan into the tiny Matiz, using custom mounts, modified intake, and clever angling to make everything fit snugly under the hood. The build’s sheer audacity is clear in every frame of the Twin Engine Corsa YouTube video featuring the owner, known on Instagram as @v6matiz.

The video showcases the engine bay filled to capacity, demonstrating the meticulous work required to bring this tiny terror to life. And terror it is: the new powerplant puts out around 210-220 horsepower, over four times the original 50 hp output of the Matiz’s stock 796cc engine. The new five-speed manual gearbox sends all this power to the front wheels, making the Matiz far more potent than its humble exterior suggests.

Apart from a vented hood and a set of 18-inch Porsche wheels, this modification looks similar to a stock Daewoo Matiz—until you rev the engine. To handle all that extra muscle, PowerCrazy upgraded the front brakes with beefier rotors borrowed from a Ford Focus RS, providing the Matiz with the stopping power it desperately needs.

GM acquired Daewoo in 2002, leading to the resurgence of the Matiz as the Chevrolet Spark. Despite its history as a practical city car, this V6 Matiz demonstrates that with sufficient imagination and engine swapping expertise, even a small car can transform into a stunning powerhouse.
