Concept 001 Turns The Land Rover Defender 90 Into A Rolling Power Move

The Land Rover Defender has always had a bit of a cult following, but when you let two of Britain’s most expressive tuners loose on it—Chelsea Truck Co. and Kahn Design—you end up with something like this: the Concept 001. It’s a bold, custom take on the Land Rover Defender 90, and while it’s definitely not for everyone, you can’t deny the presence it has.
At first glance, it’s the wheels that jump out at you. They’ve gone for 20-inch Hammerhead RS-Forged rims, wrapped in meaty 33-inch all-terrain rubber. The flared fenders help tie it all together with a bit of that wide-body bravado.

You also get new headlights, a redesigned spare wheel cover, and a cool 3D-textured protective paint finish on the lower body: kind of like armor, but stylish. Around back, they’ve fitted spats made of carbon fiber for the diffuser, and up front, there’s a new hood complete with cooling vents. It all feels like the kind of Defender that wouldn’t blink at crawling up a mountain... but would still insist on being photographed while doing it.

Inside is where things go from tough to theatrical. It’s all black and blue leather—seats, dash, door panels—stitched together with a bit of Britannia Blue piping. It’s a dramatic look, but it doesn’t feel overdone.

All these exterior upgrades will be available for both the Defender 90 and 110, if you’ve got the wallet for it. The whole package comes in at £25,000 (roughly $32,000), which isn’t exactly pocket change. But then again, you’re not really buying just parts—you’re buying a statement. And as far as Defenders go, this one’s loud and proud in the best way.
