Carroll Shelby's 100th Birthday Is Honored With A Special Centennial Edition Mustang

American car culture will never be the same without Carroll Shelby. In 2023, on January 11th, if he were still living, he would have reached the age of 100. That's why the company that bears his name has introduced a new package for the Ford Mustang GT in honor of its founder's birthday.

Shelby American has announced a limited production run of a special edition Mustang that they are calling the 2023 Carroll Shelby Centennial Edition.

Besides the technical enhancements, this version is distinguished from the others by several Centennial-themed extras. Among them are a Shelby Centennial Book published by Team Shelby and a personalized black Stetson hat. The Centennial logo is also included on the special edition Shelby Mustang's tail panel, side rocker stripes, emblems, and badges.

Additionally, there is Le Mans outrageous satin black vinyl striping. Interior features include Carroll Shelby Centennial Edition badges and emblems on the door sill plates, floor mats, and leather upholstery. The 5.0-liter V8's output is increased to 750 horsepower thanks to a black Shelby supercharger that has a gauge pod.

This propulsion is transferred to the pavement through a pair of 20-inch matte black wheels shod with 305/30/20 performance tires. The 2023 Carroll Shelby Centennial Edition Mustang is a limited-edition model that will only be produced in a run of 100 cars by Shelby American. The base price of this package for the 2023 Ford Mustang GT is $49,995.
