Carlex Design Customizes A Ferrari 812 GTS With Kudu And Buffalo Leather

Some Ferrari owners aren't pleased with a car that's straight out of the factory. Carlex has a solution for that. For this Ferrari 812 GTS, Carlex worked on practically every interior detail, making it even more sumptuous than before.

In order to accomplish this, tuners have resorted to using rare and unusual materials in their work. Kudu leather is used on the seats, door cards, and other sections of the car. The material was obtained from the Kudu, an antelope common in eastern and southern Africa.

Carlex says that the leather is sustainable because South Africa has a cull to keep the number of animals down, and the skins would be thrown away otherwise. Each component is individual and has a retro look due to the unique manner in which the skin is cut and scarred. 

The leather used in this Ferrari 812 GTS has a caramel shade. Carlex has used black leather accents throughout to contrast with the caramel upholstery, which is sourced from buffalos. The interior also features distinctive seams, laser-engraved patterns, and metal badges. The plastic parts were painted with a gloss black paint job, and decals were put on the outside of the car.

The 6.5-liter V12 engine has been kept untouched by Carlex. So, it still has 789 horsepower and 529 pound-feet of torque, which should be enough.
