Porsche's brief chapter with the 912, introduced as the more accessible counterpart to the 911 from 1965 to 1969, featured a four-cylinder engine in contrast to the 911's six-cylinder allure. Positioned as an affordable sports car successor to the 356, the 912 was a testament to Porsche's history.

However, the narrative takes an extravagant turn with the Porsche 912c, a custom creation by KAMM in Hungary, demanding a substantial €400,000 ($437,000). This modified 912c undergoes a radical transformation, shedding over 661 pounds, courtesy of a carbon fiber body kit meticulously crafted by KAMM.

The remodeled 912c now boasts a svelte weight of 1,541 lbs, offering fans the choice between an exposed weave or a painted body. Beyond the dramatic weight reduction, the car achieves an impressive near-50:50 weight distribution. If you already have a Porsche 912 in your possession, KAMM extends the invitation to transform it for €360,000 ($393,000).

While this figure might raise eyebrows, the specialist guarantees a thorough overhaul. The upgraded 2.0-liter engine, equipped with electronic fuel injection and throttle bodies, cranks out 190 hp, more than doubling the output of the original 1.6-liter mill from the 356 SC.

Moreover, the 912c receives not only weight-conscious enhancements but also aerodynamic tweaks, improved air conditioning, advanced audio and phone connectivity, and a variety of seat options. Also, a semi-carbon configuration is on offer, tipping the scales at 1,653 lbs for €360,000 ($393,000) or €320,000 ($350,000) if you provide the donor car.

Deliveries are set to commence early in 2024, with KAMM promising distinct configurations for each car.
