BMW XM Gets An 888-HP Makeover With Manhart's MHXM 900 II Package

The BMW XM hasn’t exactly been flying off showroom floors, with just over 7,200 units sold globally last year. This year isn’t shaping up much better—U.S. sales were already down 14.2% in the first nine months of 2024. Despite this, Manhart has introduced their MHXM 900 II package to transform the XM into a powerhouse.

The package enhances the BMW XM's V8 engine to an impressive 888 hp and increases its torque to 885 lb-ft.

That’s a massive leap from the 738 hp and 738 lb-ft of the range-topping XM Label Red. This performance boost comes thanks to Manhart’s MHtronik powerbox, paired with optional exhaust upgrades, including a full valve-controlled stainless steel system or an Akrapovic slip-on setup. For those outside Europe, there is also the option to remove the catalytic converters for improved flow, although this will not comply with TUV regulations.

Manhart has opted for a bold black-and-gold theme on the exterior, incorporating dramatic touches to the front splitter, air intakes, and other details. The SUV rides on huge 24-inch wheels wrapped in tires as wide as a Bugatti Chiron’s at the rear—295/30s up front and 355/25s at the back. There’s also a generous use of forged carbon fiber throughout, gold-painted brake calipers, and H&R lowering springs for an aggressive stance.

Inside, changes are more subtle. The steering wheel gets a new badge, and a few extra carbon fiber accents freshen up the familiar BMW cabin. It’s still the XM you know—but with a lot more muscle and attitude, courtesy of Manhart.
