Let us tell you about this incredible bike that's just hit the scene – it's the BMW R 18 One Eight C, a unique bagger that's the brainchild of the famous Paul Yaffe. Picture this: a front wheel that's a whopping 26 inches across! And get this, it's crafted from a single 400-pound block of aluminum. How wild is that?

So, Paul Yaffe, this absolute legend in motorcycle design, teamed up with BMW to create this masterpiece. The inspiration?

Those classic 1950s Mercury Lead Sleds. Yaffe based his design on the BMW R18 Transcontinental, but here's the kicker – he only decided on this design after a long ride of over 3,800 miles to Sturgis. During that trip, he figured he wanted to create a big wheel bagger unlike anything he'd ever done.

Now, let's talk about that front wheel. It's not just big; it's HUGE – 26 inches by 5.5 inches. And it's so unique because it was custom-made from a whopping 400 lb block of aluminum. Plus, it needed a special tire just for itself.

But there's more to this bike than its giant wheel. The BMW R18 Transcontinental's frame had to be stretched and adjusted to fit this beast of a wheel. Yaffe didn't stop there; he even got special triple trees made to ensure the bike handles like a dream.

And it's not just about that wheel. There's a bunch of custom work here – a handmade steel front fender, a revamped fairing, a cool chin spoiler, and even custom Yaffe Monkey Bars made just for this project. These aren't just changes; they're a total transformation.

Yaffe and his team really wanted to keep the BMW's original charm, so they redesigned the saddlebag lids, latches, and speakers to keep that top-notch BMW engineering while giving the bags a fresh, stretched look.

Then there's the Lead Sled touch – air suspension and side pipes. They even tweaked the Boxer head pipes, ditching the catalytic converters for a custom baffle system that just screams performance.

The final touch? The paint job. Yaffe went for something simple, not wanting to overshadow the bike's new look. The goal was minimalistic charm, and from the sounds of it, they nailed it. Yaffe said, "We wanted to smooth everything out to perfection without overdoing it. And honestly, we think it's spectacular!"

This beauty, the R18 One Eight C, is all set to make its grand debut at the MBE Show in Verona, Italy. Can't wait to see how it wows everyone there!
