Apocalypse Unveils 'World Ender': A Six-Wheeled Beast Based On The Land Rover Defender

Famed in the niche market for massive cars is Florida-based Apocalypse Manufacturing. Their latest brainchild? The World Ender is a bold reimagining of the Land Rover Defender that’s meant to be as outrageous as it is over-the-top.

What Apocalypse did was take the standard Land Rover Defender, slice up the chassis, stretch it out, and add a third axle with two extra wheels. Unlike some conversions where the extra set of wheels is just for looks, these actually serve a purpose—this is a real six-wheel-drive machine.

But adding wheels wasn’t enough for Apocalypse. They gave the Land Rover Defender a full suspension overhaul, allowing the vehicle’s height to adjust by up to 8 inches with just a button press. On top of that, they fitted 20-inch military-style wheels wrapped in enormous 38-inch tires that can crush almost any off-road terrain.

The exterior also got a dramatic facelift, featuring flared fenders, skid plates, side steps, and rock sliders, with a bright orange bulbar sitting up front. LED spotlights and a rack are up on the roof, while the back of the vehicle features roll bars and a full-size spare tire mounted in the bed.

The engine under the hood remains the 5.0-liter supercharged V8 from the factory Land Rover Defender, putting out 518 horsepower and 461 lb-ft of torque. There’s no official word on the World Ender’s weight, but it’s a safe bet that all those modifications have added a beneficial amount of heft, which will likely slow it down a bit in straight-line performance.

Apocalypse Manufacturing has already delivered this specific World Ender to a customer in Jacksonville, Florida, but if you have at least $374,999 burning in your pocket, they will happily build you one of your own.
