This Alfa Romeo Cuorerosso Shooting Brake Render Looks Better Than the Original

Alfa Romeo, take a look at this. The new Cuorerosso concept already has plenty going for it, but a digital artist has reimagined it as a five-door shooting brake, and the result might be even better than the original. It has the looks of a proper Italian sports car, with a longer roof and a hatchback that make it a little more useful, too.
Created by Kelsonik, the render uses the proportions of the Giulia sedan and borrows the Cuorerosso’s design.

The sharp front end, sculpted rear arches, and distinctive wheels all make the transition nicely. The roof is more conventional, and the large rear spoiler is gone, replaced by a hatchback. Somehow, adding two doors hasn’t taken away any of the car’s appeal.

It also brings back memories of the Alfa Romeo Brera, a coupe that still turns heads today. A sporty Alfa with a practical rear hatch would be a welcome change from the endless stream of SUVs. Give it a Quadrifoglio badge and a powerful engine, and you have the makings of something enthusiasts could get excited about.

For now, it’s just a render, and Alfa Romeo hasn’t said a word about building a shooting brake. But come on, this thing makes a pretty solid case for giving the Cuorerosso more than one body style. We’ve already got SUVs coming out of our ears. Alfa, how about giving us one gorgeous wagon instead?
