BMW M2 G87 owners now have some exciting options to amp up their performance coupes, thanks to AC Schnitzer. While the full slate of performance enhancements is still in the works, AC Schnitzer has already given the M2 a visual makeover and fine-tuned its chassis.

The tuned BMW M2 adopts a track-ready appearance with more pronounced aerodynamic elements. Up front, you'll notice a larger splitter, canards, and additional winglets within the bumper intakes.

The side profile gets new side skirts and stylish side gills that pay homage to older BMW M models. The rear view undergoes a transformation with the addition of a roof spoiler, an extended diffuser, and a substantial carbon racing wing. The latter can even be equipped with an optional gurney flap. These visual upgrades aren't just for show; they contribute to a significant increase in downforce, adding 132 lbs at the front and up to 176 lbs at the rear.

Additionally, the quad tailpipe's carbon trim serves as a visual enhancement for now but will eventually be part of an exhaust system upgrade with flap control, promising an impressive exhaust note. AC Schnitzer is renowned for its striking wheel designs, and the M2 gets treated with AC4 Lightweight Forged Rims, available in Techgold or gloss black finishes. These wheels measure 20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear, although there's an option for 20-inch wheels all around.

Beyond their visual appeal, these wheels reduce unsprung mass by up to 25–35%, leading to enhanced performance and handling. For a more budget-friendly choice, AC1 alloy wheels are available in various finishes. An AC Schnitzer RS coilover setup, which offers adjustments for ride height, rebound, and compression damping, replaces the stock BMW M suspension on the chassis front. This configuration lowers the car by 25–35 mm at the front and 20–30 mm at the rear.

There's another spring set available, providing a milder drop of 20–25 mm at the front and 15-20 mm at the rear. AC Schnitzer is also actively working on a performance upgrade for the M2's twin-turbo 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine, though they haven't revealed specific power figures yet. The stock engine pumps out 453 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque, and AC Schnitzer aims to push those numbers even higher than what the upcoming BMW M2 CS will offer.

The performance upgrade will also come with a new engine cover for those who enjoy showcasing their engine. For interior aficionados, AC Schnitzer offers a redesigned sports steering wheel that combines perforated black Napa leather and Alcantara upholstery with light gray stitching. The gearshift paddles are noticeably larger and made of aluminum for improved usability. Aluminum is also used for the pedals, footrest, key holder, and a special cover for the iDrive Controller on the center console.

AC Schnitzer will unveil the modified BMW M2 at the 2023 Essen Motor Show in Germany from December 1–10. M2 owners can start enhancing their vehicles, with the performance upgrades expected to be available in spring 2024.
