This Audi RS5 Wagon From ABT Has More Power Than The Limited-Edition RS6 GT

A family wagon with 710 horsepower sounds like a questionable parenting decision, but ABT Sportsline clearly sees nothing wrong with it. The German tuner has turned its attention to the new Audi RS5, developing an RS5-R package that takes the already potent hybrid wagon into territory usually reserved for exotic machinery. And there's more power coming next year.
ABT has reworked the software controlling the RS5's twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V6 and electric motor. The result is 710 hp and 667 lb-ft (905 Nm) of torque, an increase of 80 hp and 59 lb-ft over the standard setup. That puts the modified RS5 ahead of the limited-edition RS6 GT in terms of output. Not bad for something with enough luggage space for a family holiday.

The current package is only part of the plan. ABT is preparing another upgrade for 2027, which will bring an Akrapovic titanium exhaust and push output to 789 hp. At that point, the rear passengers might want to hold on to their snacks.
There's plenty to separate the RS5-R from a regular Audi, even before starting the engine. ABT has added a carbon-fiber front splitter, wheel-arch louvers, extended side skirts, redesigned mirror caps, a roof spoiler, and a new rear diffuser. The components are available in regular or forged carbon fiber.

The ABT Audi RS5 wagon also gets 22-inch forged wheels with unusual triangular spokes, gloss-black finishes, and enormous 315/25 tires. Lowering springs and upgraded anti-roll bars handle the suspension changes. Inside, ABT adds specially upholstered seats, a revised dashboard, red stitching, carbon-fiber paddle shifters, and a numbered plaque. Production will be limited to 130 cars.
Now, the price. The RS5-R package starts at €65,000 for the Avant, with forged carbon adding €3,000. Installation costs another €7,600, and that's before paying €107,850 for the standard wagon. In other words, this isn't exactly an affordable way to do the school run.
