2022 Lexus LS 500 Acquires Extra Features

It's been a busy few months for the luxury flagship sedan market, with new entries from Audi, Mercedes-Benz, all making their debuts. BMW is working feverishly to complete the next-generation 7-Series to stay on-trend. Lexus LS, the group's fourth member, will see several improvements for the 2022 model year.

As the flagship sedan was restyled in 2021, the changes for this year are limited and feature the currently added Haku interior decoration on Luxury and Executive Package variants.

In addition, even the base Lexus LS may now be configured with a Mark Levinson Quantum Logic Immersion Reference Surround Sound Audio System with 23 speakers. That's a lot, but it has a whopping 2,400 watts of power.

The new Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 array of driver assistance features is the final major update. It has All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Pedestrian and Bicyclist Detection, and a Pre-Collision System with Frontal Collision Warning. Lane Tracing Assist, Road Sign Assist, and Intelligent High Beams are among the highlights.

Lexus LS 500h boasts a classic twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 that delivers 416 hp (310 kW / 422 PS) and 442 lb-ft (599 Nm) of torque, according to Lexus. The rear-wheel-drive model can go from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 4.6 secs thanks to this.

The 2022 Lexus LS 500 is expected to hit showrooms later this year, with a starting price of $76,000 and a $1,075 delivery tax.
