The wild exterior and interior of this restored 1988 Porsche 930 Turbo Slantnose is matched only by its awesome performance.

Winning both the People's Choice and Kids' Choice awards at the Porsche Classic Restoration Challenge, this 1988 Porsche 930 Turbo Slantnose captivated the hearts of enthusiasts of all ages at the Werks Reunion in Monterey, California.

Conceptualized and brought back to life by Porsche Santa Clarita, a Galpin Motors dealer known for their outstanding restorations like the sublime 356 Speedster, this car was transformed into a piece of automotive art.

Despite initially suffering from fire and corrosion damage, the Galpin Porsche Santa Clarita team was determined to restore the 930 Turbo Slantnose to a "poster-worthy" condition. They infused it with modern touches, setting it apart from the classic Porsche 930.

"This project is the most ambitious build we've created for the Porsche Classic Restoration challenge. Despite starting off with fire damage and corrosion, we were able to transform it into a period-correct Porsche on the exterior and interior while making the performance simply terrifying," said President and Chief Operating Officer for Galpin Motors Beau Boeckmann.

The team enhanced the car's exterior with an X83 Flachbau factory body kit, a unique feature available only in Japan. The restored 1988 Porsche 930 now gleams with a "Rubystar" exterior paint, and it's adorned with livery inspired by Porsche's 75th anniversary iconic colors.

Its interior is a work of art, boasting a turquoise theme with black and white pasha trim. The instrument cluster has been given a contemporary touch, and the climate control system has been updated. The audio experience was also revamped by integrating a custom Blaupunkt sound system.

But the heart of this restoration lies in its performance. The car's 3.5-liter turbo engine now thunders with over 850 horsepower. Complemented by a new oil cooler system, a rebuilt transaxle, a fine-tuned suspension, and HRE wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, the car is ready to conquer the roads once again.
