Volvo Just Turned Its Smallest EV Into a Delivery Van

Meet the Volvo EX30 Cargo. Volvo took its smallest EV and turned it into a proper city delivery tool, and the concept fits.
From the outside, it keeps a low profile. It looks like a normal EX30, with dark rear windows as the only real clue. That makes it more discreet than most small vans. There is even a Cross Country version, which adds a tougher look to something built for urban work.

The real change is inside. The rear seats are removed and replaced with a dedicated cargo area. Capacity reaches 1,000 liters, which makes it useful for daily jobs. The size stays compact, but the function is now clear.
The setup is well thought out. A solid bulkhead separates the cabin; the floor is flat, and the materials are tougher. At the back, the doors open wider, there is extra lighting, and you get proper tie-down points. Payload stands at 390 kg, which suits most city deliveries.

Up front, nothing changes. The base model includes LED lights, parking sensors, a rear camera, adaptive cruise control, and full phone connectivity. The Plus trim adds heated seats, a heated steering wheel, improved audio, and wireless charging.
Performance is where it gets unusual. The base version runs 148 hp, which is enough for daily use. The twin-motor version delivers 422 hp with all-wheel drive and reaches 0-62 mph in 3.6 seconds. That is far beyond what this type of vehicle needs.

There is a catch. You can only get it in the UK, and only through fleet orders, so private buyers are not part of the plan. Pricing starts at £36,010, a bit higher than the standard EX30.
In return, you get something that fits the job. Compact size, easy to move through traffic, and enough space to carry what you need. For city work, it works better than a bigger van.
