Toyota Three-Row SUV Takes Shape In First Official Preview
by AutoExpert | 2 February, 2026
Toyota just gave us our first real look at its upcoming electric three-row SUV, along with a date for the full reveal: February 10. It’s only a teaser photo and a short video, but there’s already plenty to unpack.
Even with the limited footage, some details are easy to spot. There’s a large panoramic glass roof, USB ports built into the base of the C-pillars for rear passengers, and a clean, modern interior. Up front, Toyota is going with a fully digital instrument cluster and a big tablet-style screen in the center. Nothing shocking, but it finally feels like Toyota is catching up to where EV interiors are heading.

The outside might be the biggest giveaway. The window shape matches patent images that surfaced earlier. When you compare those patents with the new teaser, the similarities are hard to ignore. This looks very much like the production version of the bZ Large SUV.

Toyota has been talking about a large electric SUV for years now. When the company first announced plans for 15 electric vehicles, a three-row model was always part of the story. In 2023, Toyota confirmed that the plan was still on track, even if it had taken longer than expected.

The design traces back to the 2021 bZ Large SUV concept, also known as the bZ5X. Toyota said it would be built in the U.S., and that still seems to be the case. The rear design, which Toyota didn’t fully show back then, appeared in patent images - and now those same body lines and light bar show up in today’s teaser.

The big unknown is the name. Toyota has been slowly moving away from the “bZ” branding, and this could be the moment it switches things up. This three-row SUV will be built in Kentucky, with batteries coming from North Carolina. Whether it’s called bZ5X, bZ Highlander, or something else entirely, we won’t have to guess for much longer. Production is expected to start in the first half of 2026.
