New Nissan Gravite Has 7 Seats And Costs Less Than You Think

For India, Nissan has rolled out the Nissan Gravite, a seven-seat subcompact MPV with crossover vibes. It is closely related to the recently updated Renault Triber, and you can tell. The differences are mostly in the details.
Up front, the Gravite gets a redesigned bumper with a larger honeycomb grille, horizontal intakes, and C-shaped elements around them. The daytime running lights are slightly tweaked, and there is a fresh set of alloy wheels.

Nissan also added new colors, including a Forest Green shade inspired by the Nissan Patrol. Around the back, there is a new bumper with chunkier styling and Gravite lettering stretched across the tailgate. The Launch Edition model, limited to 1,001 units, stands out with orange accents and special decals.

Inside, the new Nissan Gravite sticks with a three-row, seven-seat layout. The third row comes standard, but you can remove it completely if you want more cargo space. With the back seats out, boot capacity grows to 625 liters, which is seriously practical for something this small.

The dashboard is largely carried over from Renault, including the 8-inch infotainment screen and, on higher trims, a 7-inch digital cluster. Meanwhile, the top-spec version adds features like a dual dash cam, JBL sound system, ambient lighting, air purifier, neck cushions, LED lighting, and roof rails. Safety is solid for the segment, with six airbags and ESP standard across the range.

The Gravite rides on the CMF A+ platform shared with the Nissan Magnite, as well as the Triber, Kwid, and Kiger. Power comes from a naturally aspirated 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine making 71 hp and 96 Nm of torque. It drives the front wheels through either a five-speed manual or an EZ Shift automatic. It is not built for speed, but that is not really the point here.

The real selling point is value. Prices start at ₹5,65,000 ($6,200). Even the fully loaded Tekna Launch Edition with the automatic gearbox comes in at ₹8,93,500 ($6,400), which keeps it within reach for a lot of buyers.

Honestly, this Nissan Gravite feels like a smart move. It is not flashy or groundbreaking, but in a market like India, space and price matter more than big horsepower numbers. Nissan seems to know exactly who this car is for.
