Tesla Spring Update 2026 Adds Hey Grok And 24 Hour Recording

Tesla turned over-the-air updates into part of the ownership experience, not just a bonus. This Spring Update 2026 leans into that. It’s one of the fuller seasonal drops, less about big new features, more about tightening what’s already there and making it easier to live with.
Most of the changes show up the moment you get in. The Self-Driving app on AI4 cars has been cleaned up, so managing Full Self-Driving and checking usage feels more straightforward.

Voice control gets more useful, too. The new “Hey Grok” wake command means you don’t have to press anything, and you can set location-based reminders just by speaking. It’s quicker and less menu diving.
There are a few safety tweaks as well. Blind-spot warnings now show through the ambient lighting, which is easier to notice without adding extra icons. The system can record up to 24 hours of footage, and you can keep the clips you want to save.

Navigation and media get a few small upgrades that you actually notice in daily use. Weather maps now show rain and snow more clearly, plus what’s already passed through. You can swipe to queue songs, and rear passengers finally get access to maps on supported screens. On a long drive, that’s the kind of thing people end up using more than you’d expect.
Then there are the quieter changes. Pet Mode gets a few extra options, the kind you only realize you needed once they’re there. And in the latest Model 3 and Model Y, the interface just looks cleaner, especially in the updated park view.
Audio gets a nice lift, too. If you’ve got the premium system, the immersive sound update adds more depth and separation. Music feels a bit more alive, less flat, even at normal volumes.

For Model S and Model X, the focus shifts a bit. Owners can now tweak their on-screen car avatar with things like wraps, window tint, and license plates. It’s not a big feature, but it adds a bit of personality to the interface.
There are still missing pieces. No Apple CarPlay, and some automation features depend on the region. But overall, this update shows Tesla’s approach pretty clearly.
