The Huayra 70 Derecho Is A 218-MPH Birthday Gift For Horacio Pagani

Most people celebrate turning 70 with a nice dinner or a holiday. Horacio Pagani is doing things a little differently. His company has built the Pagani Huayra 70 Derecho, the second of three special Huayras created for his milestone birthday, and it will make its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Built by Pagani's Grandi Complicazioni division, the Derecho wears Pearl Orange paint mixed with Blue highlights. The colors also leave the fish-bone weave of the carbon fiber visible underneath. Glossy Titanium-finished aluminum details appear around the car, joined by 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels, a large rear wing, and a roof-mounted intake sitting just above the cabin.

Inside, Ceramic White and Tricolore Blue leather cover the handcrafted cabin. Blue carbon fiber, contrast stitching, and Pagani's usual metal switchgear fill out the details. Pearl Orange also appears on the steering wheel and gear shifter, while Huayra 70 Derecho badges sit on the door panels. A little much? Maybe. But this is Pagani we're talking about.

Behind the seats is a twin-turbo 6.0-liter V12 producing 852 hp and 811 lb-ft of torque. Power goes to the rear wheels through a seven-speed manual gearbox, and the top speed is electronically limited to 218 mph. Yes, a manual V12 roadster with more than 850 hp still exists in 2026.

Horacio Pagani says the project follows his usual focus on mixing form, function, and craftsmanship, an approach inspired by Leonardo da Vinci. The Pagani Huayra 70 Derecho will now head to Goodwood for its world premiere. If this is how Pagani celebrates 70, his 80th birthday could get expensive.
