Lotus Brings Back the Scura… and Keeps It Mean

Lotus is bringing back the Scura name, this time on the Emira. The badge first appeared on the 2009 Exige, and now it returns on something more current.
The theme is simple. Dark. Satin grey body, gloss black roof, black mirrors. It sounds basic, but the combination works. The car sits on 20-inch forged wheels with red brake calipers, which add just enough contrast without overdoing it.

There is more than styling here. Lotus includes the Driver’s Pack as standard, so you get sport suspension and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. It is set up to feel sharper, not only look different.
Inside, the changes stay focused. Red steering wheel, Alcantara seats with red stitching, and matching red seatbelts. Small details, but they tie the cabin together. You also get privacy glass and a KEF sound system, so it still works as a daily car.

The engines carry over unchanged. The AMG-sourced 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder makes 400 hp and comes with a dual-clutch gearbox. It does 0 to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds and reaches 181 mph.
The other option is the 3.5-liter supercharged V6. Same 400 hp, less torque, and a manual gearbox. It takes 4.2 seconds to hit 60 mph and runs a slightly lower top speed. This is the one you pick for the feel, not the numbers.

Production stays limited, with only 60 cars planned for North America.
Pricing is not confirmed yet, but it should land above the standard Emira, which starts just over $106k and goes up to around $113k for the V6.
