Lotus EVs Are Already Getting Big Discounts Before Hybrids Even Arrive

EVs are supposed to lead the next chapter. But when the story moves on too quickly, it leaves things behind.
Lotus just launched the Emeya and Eletre as pure electrics. Now it’s already talking hybrids, and those brand new EVs are still on showroom floors.

So prices start to move. If you look around the UK, you’ll find fresh Emeyas that haven’t even been registered yet, and some of them are way below what they used to cost. The Emeya R is where it really stands out. Around 900 horsepower, under 2.8 seconds to 62 mph.
One car in London used to cost over £140,000. Now it’s just under £90,000.

And it’s not just one dealer doing this. You see the same pattern elsewhere. Different cars, similar price cuts.
Part of it comes down to timing. Lotus changed the naming recently. The old “R” is gone, replaced by “600” and “900.” It sounds like a big update, but the cars themselves are basically the same. So these discounted ones still feel current.

Prices are starting to ease a bit, even on the newer cars. Not a big drop, but enough to shift the conversation.
At the same time, Lotus is already lining up the next step. Hybrid versions are on the way, with the Eletre leading. It brings a 2.0-liter engine together with electric motors for close to 940 hp. The Emeya is up next.

So it leaves you in a bit of a weird place. The current cars are fast, modern, and more than enough for real life. But there’s already something new waiting in the background.
Do you take the deal now and enjoy it, or do you wait and pay more for the next version? That’s the kind of choice Lotus buyers are looking at right now.
