Lexus Quietly Made the LM 500h Even Better for Rear-Seat Luxury
by AutoExpert | 18 March, 2026
Lexus launched the current Lexus LM 500h in 2023, and for 2026, it is not trying to reinvent anything. Instead, the updates focus on small details that make daily use a bit nicer.
In the four-seat Executive version, you now get puddle lights when the sliding doors open. Small detail, but it fits the whole “you’re being taken care of” feeling this thing is built around.

The rear fridge has also been tweaked with flexible dividers, so bottles don’t roll around anymore. And the USB-C ports in the back are finally useful, with enough power to charge a laptop without struggling.
Lexus also spent time making the cabin even quieter. Both trims get new tires designed to cut down road noise, on top of the extra insulation added before. It is not something you notice right away, but on a long drive, it probably makes a difference.

Mechanically, nothing has changed. It still runs the same hybrid setup with a turbo 2.4-liter engine and two electric motors, making 366 horsepower with all-wheel drive as standard.
It is already on sale in Japan, with prices starting at ¥15.2 million and climbing to just over ¥20 million for the Executive. Not cheap, but then again, this is less about driving and more about how you feel sitting in the back.
