LeBron James’ Custom Mercedes-Maybach S 680 Heads To Auction For Charity

Most celebrity cars tell you who owns them. This Mercedes-Maybach S 680 goes a step further and tells you who designed it, right down to the leather covering the dashboard. Created with LeBron James, the custom 2027 luxury sedan is heading to auction, with proceeds supporting the NBA star’s work with students and families in his hometown of Akron, Ohio.
Finished in a non-metallic Light Ivory paint exclusive to Mercedes-Benz’s Manufaktur customization program, the sedan gets matching wheels and LeBron’s personal logo in place of the usual V12 badges on the front fenders. It’s also closely based on the Maybach James owns himself, so this isn’t simply a famous name attached to a random luxury car.

Open the doors, though, and restraint goes out the window. Stormy Weather Blue Nappa leather covers the seats, door panels, much of the dashboard, and even the transmission tunnel. White contrast stitching breaks up the sea of blue, while LeBron’s logo appears on the headrests. There’s also a small plaque on the center console featuring the coordinates of Akron. It’s a personal detail that gives the cabin a connection to the place that helped shape James’ career.

The car will be offered by Gooding Christie’s at its Retromobile New York Auctions event, with the sale benefiting the LeBron James Family Foundation’s I PROMISE program. The initiative supports students and their families in the Akron area. James said the project gives him an opportunity to help his community and support families working toward a better future.

That mission could make the Maybach more valuable than a standard example. A regular S 680 starts at $247,250 in the United States, but this one has celebrity provenance, bespoke detailing, and a charitable purpose on its side. Underneath all that blue leather sits a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 producing 621 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque. Still, the most important thing it might deliver is money for a good cause.
