Kia Finally Made the XCeed Feel Like the Rest of Its Lineup

Some cars don’t try too hard to stand out. They just sit there, somewhere in the middle, quietly doing their job.
That’s always been the Kia XCeed. Since 2019, it’s lived in that in-between space. Not quite a hatchback, not fully an SUV. Just a slightly raised Ceed for people who want something a bit different without going all in on a crossover.

It already got a refresh in 2022, and for most cars that would’ve been enough. Kia didn’t stop there. This new update feels more thought through, like they finally brought it in line with the rest of the range.
The front end changes the most. It now follows Kia’s newer design language, with vertical LED headlights, a slimmer grille, and a cleaner overall look. It feels closer to their EVs, like the EV3, rather than the older Ceed it’s based on.

From the side, it’s mostly the same story. Same shape, just updated wheels and small tweaks to keep it fresh. The rear gets a bigger rethink. Full-width taillights, a more sculpted tailgate, and a tougher-looking bumper. It leans more into that crossover vibe now.
Inside is where it really improves. The old cabin was starting to feel dated. Now it gets dual 12.3-inch screens, a cleaner layout, and updated details like the steering wheel and center console. It finally feels in line with the rest of Kia’s range.

Powertrain details are still limited, but petrol and mild-hybrid options will stay. No sign of the plug-in hybrid. With production starting soon, the XCeed now sits in an interesting spot, especially with the Seltos arriving.
