Customer-Spec Gordon Murray T.50s Niki Lauda Makes Public Debut

Gordon Murray Automotive is heading to this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed with an impressive lineup, but the main attraction will be the first customer-spec T.50s Niki Lauda. After years of development and testing, the track-only hypercar is finally ready to make its public debut in customer hands.
The car pays tribute to Gordon Murray's first Formula 1 victory as a designer, achieved at South Africa's Kyalami circuit in 1974.

Finished in matte silver, it features South African flag-inspired graphics across the hood and rear fin. Better yet, it won't spend the event sitting behind ropes. The T.50s is scheduled to tackle the famous Goodwood hill climb, giving spectators a chance to hear its naturally aspirated V12 at full song.

GMA will also display a design model of the ultra-exclusive S1 LM, a modern spiritual successor to the McLaren F1 GTR and F1 LM. Only five examples will be built worldwide, and one changed hands for more than $20 million at auction last year. Unfortunately, the car heading to Goodwood is a static display, so it won't be taking part in the hill climb.

Rounding out the lineup are a validation prototype of the V12-powered T.33 Spider and the Le Mans-inspired GTR in XP1 prototype form. With production limited to just 24 units, the latter continues Gordon Murray's long-standing fascination with endurance racers. For fans of lightweight engineering and naturally aspirated V12s, GMA's stand could end up being one of the busiest spots at Goodwood.
