2027 Mini Cooper Heritage Edition Has 201 HP But Costs More Than A JCW

Mini has a new special edition for America, and it costs more than a JCW despite having less power. Called the Cooper Heritage Edition, it arrives in the US later this year with a heavy dose of British styling. The same basic package is sold overseas as the Oxford Edition, but Mini changed the name in North America to avoid confusion with an existing model.
The Heritage Edition is based on the 2027 Cooper S 2-Door and comes in Chili Red or Indigo Sunset Blue. A white roof carries a large Union Jack graphic, joined by white mirror caps and red and white body stripes.

The 18-inch Slide Spoke wheels get two-tone paint, red, white, and blue center caps, and even Union Jack valve stem caps. Mini clearly wasn't worried about overdoing the British theme.
Inside, the flags keep coming. Union Jack details appear on the steering wheel and key fob, while the door sills and floor mats use red, white, and blue accents. There's also two-tone upholstery, contrast stitching, a special center console storage box cap, and what appears to be a Union Jack background on the circular display.

Power remains unchanged from the Cooper S. Its turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder produces 201 hp (204 PS) and 221 lb-ft (299 Nm) of torque, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The sprint to 60 mph takes 6.3 seconds. Overseas, the Oxford Edition is available in both Cooper C and Cooper S form, with UK prices starting at £30,120.

In the US, the Heritage Edition starts at $39,270 before a $1,350 destination fee. A regular Cooper S costs $32,800, while the more powerful JCW starts at $38,900. That's a lot of money for extra British flair. Would you pick the Heritage Edition over a JCW?
